RRD are happy to announce for the second time the signing of Alex Mussolini to their International Windsurfing team. Alex met the RRD family for the first time when he was a young and over talented wave ripper and now he is renowned as one of the best wave rider on the planet and a man, he signs again to ride 100% RRD: boards, sails, rigs, wetsuits, harnesses and clothing!
Alex’s target will be to challenge for the PWA Wave title and to keep searching for the perfect ride during a schedule of exotic trips. The first trip on his schedule will be to Cape Town in January where he will join Roberto and Sail Designer John Skye to start training and working on next RRD sails developments.
The man himself, Roberto Ricci said:
“Really happy to have Alex back in the team. Today having him taking active part to the testing and developing of new boards, sails, wetsuits and accessories with us will certainly be of great help. Alex has always a great new fresh angle to product development that originates from his passionate approach to the sport while pushing the boundaries of performance both with marginal or extreme conditions. I have been quite impressed with his mature analysis on the strategy and training program for the 2015 PWA season. We look forward to seeing him on the top ranking in the waves this year”
A stoked Alex commented:
“Its a pleasure to join this team again, I went to Grosseto to meet Roberto personally and all the RRD crew. I went straight to work as I went right away in the shaping room with Aurelio and started to develop my next toys. I have also been in touch with John Skye to start working on the new sails, right now I am testing them as I never had the chance to try them. I am very happy with the performance of the Vogue as its exactly what I am looking for in a wave sail. Soon I will fly to South Africa to meet my other team mates and Roberto to test the new gear for next season. As I said it amazing to be back on the RRD family, I can’t wait to start the season and help the RRD team to get good results on tour.”
RRD Team mate and Sail Designer John Skye:
“I am so happy to have Alex on RRD sails. I have known Alex since he was 14 years old, been on lots of trips with him and to me he is without a doubt one of the very best and most stylish windsurfers I have ever seen. I can’t wait to start working with him now and give him the best sails possible to challenge for the World Title.”
