Flowstyle - Caesar Finies from Bonaire

Tricktionary Teamrider Caesar Finies from Bonaire is famous for his acrobatic freestyle tricks in light winds, aka. flowstyle. Everyone who has been to Bonaire has probably seen and admired Caesar performing in front of Jibe City with his spectacular tricks and style.

Flowstyle is freestyle in very light wind, 5-10 knots are just perfect. A sail between 4.0 and 4.5 is great, flat water makes the thing easier, also the wider and less slippery your board the better.

How those moves work? - soon you will be able to see, read and learn from Caesar in one of our new Tricktionary projects!
By the way, the beta testing phase for our Trickgenius Online Coaching platform starts very soon. Register on to participate in the beta program!

But now - watch Caesar:

Mattia Pedrani - Maui Xmas

Xmas came early for Mattia Pedrani who made it back to Maui after about 7 years and was lucky enough to score excellent conditions. Mattia, who joined the PWA Freestyle Worldtour a few years ago (and made it into the Top 15 overall) today working as a software developer and still puts a lot of energy into his own music – especially Beats.

Mattia: “After about 7 years away from “the Island”, I couldn’t really bear it any more so I decided to take a 3 week holiday from my work as a software developer, packed all my stuff and girlfriend and finally got back to Maui. It was long overdue, and managed to sail in some really nice conditions. Here’s a little vid of my holiday from Oct 4-27th 2014. Thanks Alice for Filming and for the fun little ending of the vid :)”

Marc Paré Rico - Waves at home

Marc Paré Rico impressed everyone during this years “Juniors Competitions” at the canary leg of the PWA Worldtour. He also competed in the trials of Klitmoller / Cold Hawaii and France where he made it into the main event. His homespot is Roses at the Costa Brava, well known as a slalom spot where also the PWA Worldtour stops as well and normally you hardly find any waves there. Last weekend finally the conditions were pretty decent for the waveboard and the 16 years old jumped on his board and made the most out it. Check out the video below – looks like the conditions even improved during his session.

PWA Windsurf Worldcup Sylt - Freestyle Clip

The freestyle sailors of this years PWA Windsurf Worldcup Sylt were made to wait until the penultimate day of the contest in order to begin the single elimination, but the wait was more than worth it as the contortionists of the windsurfing world produced another fantastic display.

Jose "Gollito" Estredo was on fire throughout the single elimination and the Venezuelan was rewarded with not only the event victory, but so much more, as he saw his outside chance of winning this year’s world title come true - meaning Gollito now has an incredible six world crowns to his name. Estredo entered the event in third place and needed to win to be in with a shot, whilst also requiring Kiri Thode to finish fourth or worse. Thankfully, for Gollito, Thode, suffered a surprising fifth place exit, leaving the true king of freestyle back on top.

2011 PWA Freestyle World Champion - Steven Van Broeckhoven - was able to defeat Tonky Frans (Tabou / GA Sails) in the losers’ final to complete the top three, with Frans having to settle for fourth. The Belgian maestro narrowly missed out in the title battle with Jose ‘Gollito’ Estredo in the semifinals, in what proved to be an almost inseparable heat. Unfortunately, for Van Broeckhoven the decision went to his opponent, but he can still be delighted with second overall for 2014.

Overall Results 2014 PWA Freestyle World Tour:

1st Jose ‘Gollito’ Estredo (Fanatic / North / MFC)

2nd Steven Van Broeckhoven (JP / NeilPryde)

3rd Kiri Thode (Starboard / GA Sails)
